MyDogDNA Research Programme 2013 - Pay less for DNA testing and get free-of-charge help from canine genetics experts

Selective breeding risks narrowing down the gene pools of our dog breeds to a point where the inherited problems start to pop up. MyDogDNA is now joining forces with the Global Pedigree Project led by the Institute of Canine Biology to provide breeders and Breed Clubs with the possibility to bring together the dogs' pedigree information and genome-wide collected DNA data.

As part of the sponsored research programme you can purchase the new MyDogDNA PASS for your dog and pay only 79 EUR!

The MyDogDNA 2013 research programme is led by top canine scientists and deploys a genome-wide DNA analysis for finding new ways for controlling and reducing the inherited diseases in the following breeds:

Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, English Springer Spaniel, German Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, Dobermann, Bernese Mountain Dog, Lagotto Romagnolo, Beauceron, Poodles, Parson Russell Terrier and Jack Russell Terrier.

Our programme focuses on looking into the pedigrees, genetic variation and disease frequencies of the selected breeds. The DNA data that we will get from your dogs will be stored in the global MyDogDNA database, and it is important that the participating dog owners accept that the information from their dogs can also be shared with the different researchers and study groups that are actively working in canine genetics, e.g. to identify new genes. More information about the breed-specific research objectives coming soon!

FOLLOW THESE EASY STEPS:
1) Order a MyDogDNA test kit with the breed's own code at www.mydogdna.com/checkout
2) You will get an email containing access credentials to the MyDogDNA database.
Sign in at www.mydogdna.com/dnapass and create a MyDogDNA profile for your dog by clicking its name.
3) When you'll get the test kit, go to your vet to take two buccal cell samples. Send the samples back to us in the kit, the postage is paid worldwide!

Download a list of breed codes for the VIP testing offer

You can also send us two cheek cell samples of your dog to support and contribute to the research programme without ordering anything, just print and fill out this form and send it together with the samples.
